The standard for electric vehicles is now considered to be lithium-ion batteries as they have a great long life. lithium-ion batteries have self discharge rate of just 5% per month. The full capacity of a lithium-ion battery cell should be good for 300 to 500 cycles. A good battery could last you up to 10 years. lithium-ion batteries are the best batteries for ev's. Electric vehicle have more batteries than a regular gasoline car. it's the same kind of batteries that are commo nly used when starting up a gasoline engine. the only difference comes in the fact that in electric vehicles, they have more of them, which are used to power the engi ne. electric vehicle's cost lower than other gasoline vehicles, It can cost lower then other fuel types to fully charge. When the accelerator is pressed, power is transferr ed from the battery to the electric motor. The motor is powered resulting in the drive shafts turning the wheels. When the vehicle brakes, the vehicle begins to decele rate and the motor becomes an alternator and generating power. This power is sent back into the battery. Nowdays, some electric vehicle charging stations are giving a free service to charge your ev's.
